I encourage my clients not to contact me with confidential information on the application WhatsApp or to send any files or sensitive data via this application. Newsletter

From time to time, you may receive my newsletter which provides you with updates, tips, links, and interesting information about my business and the industry in which I operate. I use the mail provider Mail Chimp to send my newsletter. Mail Chimp is GDPR-compliant and has committed to transfer and process all of users’ Swiss, EU, and UK data in compliance with the Standard Contractual Clauses. Client, supplier and partner data

Why I process your personal data. 

I collect, store and use personal data for the purposes of issuing a quote, to provide translation, proofreading, editing and/or copywriting services that you request or to comply with legal requirements. I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes. Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, and ID or tax number. The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request. 


Who else receives your personal data? 

If I send a text for translation, revision or editing to a colleague, it will be anonymised wherever possible to ensure that your data does not appear. Where this is not possible due to the nature of the text, it will only be shared with colleagues who are party to a non-disclosure agreement. 

For administrative purposes, other third parties may have access to some of your personal data, including my accountant and my website and email hosting services. All these parties are GDPR-compliant. 


Data retention

Data in relation to quotes will be retained for up to six months. In the event of work carried out, I am obliged to retain your personal data for five years to comply with UK tax law. I will delete email communication after five years. 


Your right of access

You are entitled to access, amend, or delete your personal data which I hold or to block the data from being processed if they cannot be erased under law. Please email your request directly to me at the above address, and I will process it as soon as possible, and no later than one month after the date of your initial request.


Your right to complain 

Please contact me should you have any concerns about how I process your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory body in the UK or your own country.




This Privacy Policy was last updated on 2 April 2021 and will be reviewed as and when necessary. This document has also been translated into German. If there are any inconsistencies or ambiguities between the German and English versions, the English language shall prevail.
