Issue:
Since the launch of Intracontext in 2020, business owner and Polish translator Zofia Jackson has required a native English speaker to edit copy and review translations, making them sound more natural for a UK audience. Intracontext seeks to expand its client base in Northern Ireland, while also providing quality translations for existing clients.
Process:
We discussed our initial ideas and expectations over the phone. Working closely with Zofia ever since, I refine translations and copy, ensuring a premium product. I focus on grammar and stylistic concerns, while also localising content for Northern Ireland. Using the Cloud to communicate, we quickly and efficiently deal with any queries on both sides. As a linguistic consultant, I also weigh up different options and suggest alternatives.
Outcome:
We have focused on two critical areas since 2020. Firstly, I have been responsible for refining social media and website content directly for Intracontext. The aim here has been to increase brand awareness and attract new clients locally. Secondly, through creative translations and adaptations for Intracontext’s own clients, we bring Polish culture to Northern Ireland.
