Refunds & Cancellations

Before work starts
If you cancel before a translator has been assigned and work has begun, you receive a full refund, no questions asked. This is the free-cancellation window referred to at checkout.
Once work has started
Once a translator has been assigned and work has begun, the statutory right of withdrawal is waived under Article 103(a) of RDL 1/2007, as explained in the Terms & Conditions — you explicitly acknowledge this when you confirm an order. Cancelling after this point does not entitle you to a refund for work already performed. If work has only partly started, we refund the portion not yet carried out.
If the translation contains an error
If a delivered translation contains an objective error attributable to us — a mistranslation, an omission, an inconsistency with the source — we correct it free of charge. This is not the same as a change of mind about the source document: if the source document itself changes after we've started, that's a new version, and we'll quote it before starting, not after.
Sworn-translation reprints
If you need an additional stamped hard copy of a sworn translation already delivered — for example, a second physical copy for a different office — this is charged at cost (courier and materials only), not as a new translation.
Interpreting appointments
Interpreting bookings follow a different rule, because an interpreter's time is reserved specifically for your appointment:
- Free cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before the booked appointment.
- Cancelling within 24 hours of the appointment incurs a 50% fee of the booked rate, to cover the reserved time.
How to request a cancellation or refund
Email support@think-translate.com with your order reference. We confirm the outcome within one business day. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of approval.
