Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 August 2026
1. Who these terms apply to
These terms govern every order placed through think-translate.com and every quote accepted from Think Translate, whether you are a private individual (consumer) or a business. Think Translate is based at C. de la Estrella Naos, 10, Arganzuela, 28045 Madrid, Spain, and these terms are governed by Spanish law (see §11).
2. The services
We provide translation (sworn/certified, legal & corporate, medical & life-sciences, technical & industrial, website & software localisation) and interpreting services, as described on each service page, at the prices published on this site or agreed in a written quote.
3. How a contract is formed
A contract is formed either when: (a) you complete checkout and payment for a package, estimate or add-on through the cart, or (b) you accept a written quote sent in response to a quote-form request, whichever applies to your order. An order confirmation constitutes acceptance of these terms.
4. Prices and VAT
All prices shown on the site are exclusive of VAT (IVA). Spanish IVA at the applicable rate (21% at the time of writing) is added at checkout or stated separately on a written quote. Prices are as published at the time your order is confirmed; published rates may change for future orders but never for an order already confirmed.
5. Payment
Payment is processed at checkout through the site’s payment flow. We do not store card details. Where an order is confirmed by written quote rather than checkout, payment terms are as agreed in that quote.
6. Delivery
Digital deliverables (eIDAS-signed PDF) are delivered by email or secure link to the address you provide. Physical deliverables (stamped hard copies) are sent by tracked courier to the address you provide, within the timeframes stated on the Pricing page and your order confirmation. Turnaround times run from the point we have everything needed to begin work (including your source document, where applicable), not from the point of order.
7. Right of withdrawal — and when it doesn't apply
As a consumer ordering at a distance, you ordinarily have 14 calendar days from the date of your order to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason, under Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007 (the consolidated text of Spain’s General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users).
This right does not apply once we have begun performing the service at your explicit request and with your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service is fully performed (Article 103(a), RDL 1/2007). Because translation and interpreting work begins promptly once you confirm an order — and because a partially completed translation has no independent value to you — checkout and quote confirmation include this acknowledgement explicitly, and withdrawal is no longer available once a translator has been assigned and work has started. Before that point, you may cancel freely; see the Refunds & Cancellations policy for exactly how this applies in practice.
8. Your obligations
You're responsible for the accuracy of the source material and information you provide (document content, language pair, intended use, and — where relevant — the requirements of the receiving authority). We are not responsible for a document being rejected by a third party due to inaccurate information you supplied about its intended use or destination.
9. Intellectual property
You retain all rights in your source material. The translation we deliver is yours to use for the purpose you ordered it for once paid in full. We may retain a working copy for quality and record-keeping purposes as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to your right to request deletion.
10. Liability
If a translation contains an objective error attributable to us, we will correct it at no charge — see the Refunds & Cancellations policy. Beyond this correction commitment, our liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order, except where liability cannot be limited under Spanish law (for example, liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence).
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts of Madrid, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that entitle you, as a consumer, to bring proceedings in the courts of your own place of residence within the EU. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force at the time your order is confirmed applies to that order. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
